2010 State Volleyball
Willie Billings came and gave a motivational speech to the girls- he showed them his state ring from his high school days, and passed it around for the girls to hold and look at- he did a really good job! (gave me cold chills)
Jody Rich orchestrated this send-off for the girls. It was awesome!! The whole school came out and lined the halls to wish the girls Good Luck!
Loading the bus to head for Orem- UVU
Team picture just before getting on the bus- what a great group of girls! This has been a fun year! I was a bit nervous at how the older girls would take to Nia- being a freshmen and playing on the varsity team. They were awesome to her! The seniors will be missed next year. We will have a young team- as we didn't have any juniors on the team... only 4 seniors, and the rest were sophmores and freshmen!
Goodie bag made by Kathleen Edwards for the girls
First game of state volleyball- against Bear River- we won!

The team getting some rest and instruction during a time-out- we didn't take state, but we did super good for such a young and short team... we took 4th! I'm already excited for next year... I just love to watch volleyball- it is such an exciting game!

2010 Girls Camp
Our shirts turned out so cute! We were waiting to go on stage for our skit. The theme this year was "Sailing Home"
The bishopric... Bishop stayed with us all week long. Chris and Brother Hooten came up Friday night and then came back up Saturday morning to rescue us- it rained Friday night- they barely made it out of there when they left that night so they came back Saturday and helped us pack up and get out of there before it started to rain again
Saturday morning as we were cleaning up- Shania is doing a wonderful job- as well as all the other girls! haha! They did help- I just caught them at a moment of goofing off!

2010 Senior Cruise
Catalina Island
The "bruisers showed up" they rented bikes for $5 an hour and drove around Catalina Island- as much as they could see in an hour that is!
The Cruise Ship at night looked amazing! Here's Jake Payne, Jordan Langston, Braden, and Ian Gates at "Formal Night"
Ensenada, Mexico
Night time on the Ship
We loved to go to Karaoke after the shows... we even had some of our own celebrities sing: April Gates, Tyler Howard, and Brittney Stackhouse
Every night when we got back to the room the famous Carnival towel animals would be waiting for us along with an agenda for the next days activities.
I think everyone had a good time- we only had security come to our room once looking for Braden- he and Tim Long had gotten into a little yelling fight and the neighbors called in- they had to come and make sure Braden was OK and that Tim's story was true. They also had a "flashing" incident: one of the boys, Brecken, had gone out his cabin door with a robe on over his clothes and he "flashed" another boy down the hall- a 10 year old girl saw it and went crying to her dad- he came down and got in Kylynn Iverson's face yelling at him- security was called and all was calmed down. Kylynn and Anderson Rich really got into the "gambling" thing- they were winning way too much so they felt like they needed to keep going and winning! I don't know how they ended up doing, but at one time Kylynn was up like $150.
I really didn't take a whole lot of pictures- I'm sad about that now! Oh well!Saturday, May 29, 2010
2010 Graduation
This is right after seminary graduation- he had to work hard to graduate... he had about 23 hours of make-up to do since seminary was an easy class to sluff!!! I hope that he will realize the significance of getting it done! (and of mom nagging him to get it done!) He did make-up the work- and I'm very proud of him for doing it!
Kylynn Iverson, Jeff Staples, and Braden before graduation
Braden and Marcy Isom (his ex-girlfriend) It's good they can still be friends! She is a beautiful girl!
The family after graduation- Kyler, Chris, Braden, Kathy, and Shania. (I've been having some troubles with my eye lately- I don't know what is going on... but I was having a hard time keeping my eyes open that day.) Plus lack of sleep doesn't help! It has been a very fun but EXHAUSTING week! Braden and about 16 of his friends (more but they haven't fessed up!) decided to do a senior prank at the high school about a week before graduation. They had stolen the key to the school from one of the dads that works at the school, they went in and were going to chain up the doors from the inside so that when people came to the school the next day they couldn't get in- anyways to make a long story short- the cops showed up, the boys ran, 2 were caught- the boys all turned themselves in which resulted in 5 being arrested and booked into purgatory... they (HPD) started telling the boys to go home and they would deal with them the next day because they didn't have enough man-power to book them all that night... Braden was hand-cuffed and hauled out to the police car from school the next day. As he was sitting in the police car the City Attorney called and said they were dropping the Class A misdemeanor charge, so these boys didn't need to be booked. It resulted in the boys all being suspended from school for the rest of the school year (about 7 days) and they weren't going to let them walk for graduation- after a parent meeting with the principal he decided that it was punishing the parents and family to not let them walk, so he went ahead and let up on that! (Thank You, Mr. Pederson!) The boys were excluded from H-Day, Senior Sneak, and any other school functions... but they had their own senior sneak as they were together going to movies, swimming, sleeping, dunk-ball tournaments, etc... all week long! A few of them came over to our house and decorated their caps the night before graduation and were here until midnight... Grad night went on the next night until 5 AM, so I'm in need of some rest! After the senior cruise!!!!
