Fall Break

For Fall Break Chris and Kyler went hunting, so I took Braden, Shania and Phonso to California. We stayed with my cousin, Jolene and her husband in Murietta. The only thing the kids wanted to do the whole time we were there is go to the beach. It was free, so we did just that! Everyday we drove 45 min. to an hour to the beach. We went to Oceanside the 1st day, then just drove down the coast highway and stopped at a few other beaches.
We went to the tidal pools at LaJolla Coves, where we saw some cool things in the tidal pools. The highlight for me there was the seals and sealions. Shania found this star fish in one of the shells she picked up. The next day we went to Mission Beach- it was overcast and really foggy, but still fun!
We were going to go to the BYU football game in San Diego that weekend, but the kids decided they would rather go to the beach! They LOVED to body surf. When we would go back to Rick and Jolene's at night the boys would keep saying that they still felt like they were in the waves.
We really had a good time! Rick and Jolene were great hosts! We had good food, and visited at night with them.

Cheesy Ham and Potatoes Recipe

Here's a sneak-peek/preview of what my next blog update will be about... (just so I can put a picture with this post)


I got this recipe from Kris Long yesterday. I'm always looking for new recipes, so I was anxious to try it. It was a HUGE hit! Everybody LOVED it. I wish I would've thought and taken a picture of it before everyone scarfed it up though. So you'll just have to try it out yourself!


Cheesy Ham and Potatoes

*1 pkg. (32 oz.) Frozen Southern Style Hash-browns
*Cubed ham (I used about 2/3 pkg. of "Farmland cubed ham", bought at Wal-Mart for $2.50)
*1 can Cream of Chicken soup
*1 can evaporated milk
*2 cups grated cheese

Put in crock pot on low for 6 hours or high for 3 (ish) hours.


I was worried it would be too dry, so I stirred it once in awhile- I even added a little bit of milk, just because- it turned out kind-of like cheesy ham mashed potatoes, but it was YUMMY!

Tiger Football

Braden's last football season! I'm really sad about that! It seems like that has been our life every fall. It's sad to see it come to an end!
Every football game, the mom's do lunch for the boys. It is a really cool thing. I really think it is Great for the boys to have lunch together as a team before the games.

Update: Kyler's Broken Arm

Happy Day!! Kyler got to get that stinky, itchy cast off! He was glad to be rid of it!
The end result.... his arm was so skinny compared to the other!

If you are looking for a good book to read, you MUST read this book! We know the author, Jason Williams, it is the story of how he fought the FLDS church and got custody of his 2 boys.

20 Year Class Reunion

This weekend we had our 20 Year class reunion, it was so much fun! There were 50 of us at the dinner Saturday night-that is over 1/3 of our class in attendance!
Friday night we started off with a "class-mates only" bbq, it was '80's dress, so my group of friends got together and "primped" it up!. I LOVED that it was class mates only, just because we were able to reminisce and be silly with out our spouses there being bored, not knowing what we were talking about! We decorated the float, then we went up to the "H" and changed it to say '89! I will take a pic. of it, and post it later!
This is us on our float, it had rained really hard that night and ruined alot of our float, but we pulled together and got it looking good again... until Scott Stratton's dad (class of '64) started a water fight with us as we were waiting for the parade to get started (the parade was for Peach Days)

I had a blast! It was so much fun to see everyone! It says a lot about a class that can still get together after 20 years and be silly, and not have to worry about proving who you are and what you have done with your life!
